Community Engagement
Are you wondering how Taveau Church can shape the Sacred Corridor?
Learn about the restoration project taking place at Taveau Church, a beacon of history and tradition. The Asiko Group in partnership with Preservation South Carolina will facilitate events to engage the community and discuss post restoration usage for the church.
Community Meetings
On October 19th, we hosted a Cordesville Community Tour and Input session, where residents received a tour and project update for the potential uses of Taveau Church post-restoration. This conversation was facilitated by The Asiko Group and emphasized future planning and sustainability.
For those unable to attend the community tour, two open houses were offered on Friday, November 8th and November 9th, providing residents with an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the space, some of which had not been on the grounds of Taveau for decades.
On November 16th, final recommendations were compiled for how Taveau can best serve the community through preserving ancestral history and stories, along with being a safe gathering space.
The gallery below showcases the energy and enthusiasm of the October event, highlighting the strong sense of community and shared commitment to preserving this important piece of our history.
We look forward to providing an update on The Asiko Group's community engagement in the new year!
